Jennifer Coolidge dances to play-off music in Emmys 2022 speech

Jennifer Coolidge is cool under pressure — even when play-off music threatened to cut her 2022 Emmys speech short on Monday.

The “White Lotus” star went viral for dancing to the song that interrupted her as she accepted the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

“Wait, hold on,” Coolidge, 61, repeated multiple times before putting her notes down and busting a move.

The actress continued to dance in her sparkling green-and-gold gown as the audience clapped and cheered.

Viewers celebrated Coolidge’s reaction via Twitter, calling the “Legally Blonde” star a “national treasure” who should “rule the world.”

One Twitter user wrote, “When you think you cannot love @JENCOOLIDGE anymore than you do, she goes and does this.”

Another added that Coolidge’s dance deserved “another Emmy,” while “Sister, Sister” alum Jackée Harry tweeted, “Straight to jail with whoever played @JENCOOLIDGE off stage! But also thank you because we got that adorable dance.”

Earlier in her speech, Coolidge explained why she was having a “hard” time talking onstage.

“I took a lavender bath tonight right before the show, and it made me swell up inside my dress,” she said. “But anyway, this is so thrilling.”

News broke in July that Coolidge had been nominated for her first Emmy, and she gushed to Variety about the honor the following month.

“My friends are all surprised that this fluky thing happened,” the comedian told the magazine in August. “My life was going a certain way for a very long time. I’m afraid if I analyze it too much, I’ll ruin it.”

She reflected on playing Tanya in HBO Max’s “The White Lotus” at the time, explaining that the role was not one she had already done “a million times.”

Coolidge added, “We all want a challenge — something really scary that we might not be able to succeed at. I think we all want that opportunity.”

The “2 Broke Girls” alum will return for Season 2 of “The White Lotus,” which premieres in October.
