The 24-year-old Valverde made an impact for Carlo Ancelotti’s team last season, solidifying the La Liga team’s midfield.

He played in 46 games last year and started in Los Blancos’ 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final.

The midfielder’s versatility may be a great asset, and Klopp appears to have been impressed.

Aurelien Tchouameni is now anticipated to challenge Federico Valverde in the upcoming season.

Tchouameni, 22, has agreed to a six-year contract and a €100 million transfer from AS Monaco to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Prior to choosing to sign with Real Madrid in the early summer, the Reds had been interested in the French midfielder.

Concerns have been made over Valverde’s position in the starting XI since his arrival at the Bernabeu.

But players like Toni Kroos, 33, and Luka Modric, 36, are nearing the end of their professional lives. This may open the door for both midfielders to start games under Ancelotti in the near future.

There are still five years left on Valverde’s contract with the La Liga champions.
