A Los Angeles County medical examiner revealed the cause behind the mysterious death of Jon Hill, the ex-husband of beauty influencer Jaclyn Hill.
According to the coroner’s report, Hill died of fentanyl intoxication.
Methamphetamine was also found in his system after he died on a sidewalk on August 10, 2022 — just days before his 34th birthday, according to People.
A representative for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner had told Page Six in August that autopsy results would take “months.”
Makeup guru Jaclyn Hill called the drummer, whose real name is Andrew Jonathan Hill, “the most kind & compassionate person” she’s ever known in her touching tribute days after his death.
“I can’t believe this day has actually come. I am so out of my mind right now, I don’t know how I’m even going to type this. But I’m going to try,” the 32-year-old wrote on Instagram.
“Jon, you were the most kind & compassionate person I’ve ever known. You looked people in the eyes & you truly listened & cared about what they had to say,” she went on.
“You had so much talent you didn’t even know what to do with it. You turned your pain into art & touched so many people with your honesty in your music.”
The Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics founder then spoke about her late ex-husband’s humor, saying she will “forever miss” that about him.
The pair tied the knot back in 2009 before their romance ultimately crumbled in 2018.
Jon had previously spoken out about his battle with drug addiction, telling Billboard in 2019 that it was the catalyst in his split from Jaclyn.
“During our third year of marriage, it got to a point where I was having seizures because I was on so much stuff,” he told the outlet at the time. “I started breaking out in hives. So it became noticeable that something was wrong.”
