Carlos Carrasco exits Mets-Braves early with apparent injury

Just as the Mets rotation has finally become whole, the team could be dealing with another injury to its starting staff.

Carlos Carrasco was seen holding his side and going down into the tunnel after the second inning following a nearly hour long rain delay with the Braves leading 3-0 at Truist Park on Monday.

The 35-year-old Carrasco, who leads the Mets in wins with 13, threw 51 pitches over two-plus innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

Joely Rodriguez replaced Carrasco in the third.

A potential injury comes at a time when the Mets finally went through two turns of the rotation with Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom both in it, after the pair dealt with injuries that cost them significant time this season. Earlier in the day, the Mets announced infielder Luis Guillorme will be out 4-6 weeks with a groin injury.
